Parents want what is best for their children.  They want them to do well in school, to make healthy choices, to be safe, to have good friends, to enjoy their childhood and much more.   At AFTER SCHOOL we help parents achieve what is best for their kids.

 AFTER SCHOOL is the largest division of Wisconsin Youth Company (WYC).  The board of WYC summed up our goals in the mission statement developed in 2008:  “Wisconsin Youth Company exists so that the children of Wisconsin benefit from communities that nurture them at a sustainable cost.”

For parents making decisions about their child’s care, leisure time, interests, needs and future, the key word in this statement is “nurture.”  For more than 35 years AFTER SCHOOL has nurtured children.  In our programs we do the same kinds of things that parents do— play catch with them, worry about them when they don’t feel well, remind them to pick up their stuff and laugh at their “knock knock” jokes.  As we do all of this we’re also teaching them about friendship, teamwork, fair play, responsibility and making good choices.
